Event Description

Over a full day at Bunjil Place, writer and editor Adalya Nash Hussein will help adult workshop participants find inspiration, inhabit their characters and settings, think about craft and discover the editing and publishing process.
Whether you’re just getting started, or looking to hone your craft, this workshop will be an engaging and fun way to get your creative juices flowing.
Participants will also have the opportunity to send the tutor a 500-word excerpt for feedback after the conclusion of the workshop,
You will learn:
How to get ideas and words onto the page
How to play with voice to draw distinctive characters
How to ground your writing in convincing settings
Techniques for pacing your writing
Editorial processes and pathways to publishing

Adalya Nash Hussein is a writer and editor. She has been an Emerging Writers’ Festival Melbourne Recital Centre Writer in Residence, a Wheeler Centre Hot Desk Fellow, and shortlisted for the Scribe Nonfiction Prize.
