2:00 PM Saturday 4th June 2022
Bunjil Place Library
Place can be more than just a setting or backdrop for your story. In fact, place might be the story you want to tell. This workshop will help you tease out the haunting power of places you have known and help you discover how those places can form the basis for a piece of writing, whether that's a piece of fiction, a work of non-fiction, or a poem.
Maria Takolander is the author of a book of short stories, The Double and Other Stories (Text 2013), and four books of poetry, the latest of which, Trigger Warning (UQP 2021), is a finalist in the Victorian Premier's Literary Awards. She is also an essayist and public artist whose location-inspired words can be found in the Royal Botanic Gardens Victoria and on plaques around the Geelong CBD.
This event is presented by Writers Victoria with support from the City of Casey.
